CAGE publishes leaked PREVENT training DVD

preventStrategyStasi

CAGE has published the PREVENT training DVD for public consumption, thus ensuring government transparency and therefore accountability. The dismal “training” video will turn teachers, for instance, into surveillance specialists fit to discern the “signs of radicalisation” “vulnerable individuals. Note that PREVENT has been heavily influenced and penetrated by GCHQ, which has encouraged “intelligence analysis” as part of the Strategy.  Muslims have been discriminatorily bearing the brunt of this policy for many years.

Decades from now, when books are written about Britain’s, dark Stasi-esque era, I envisage a chapter on PREVENT and the accompanying miscarriages of justice. Who knows, perhaps it will be called the “MayCarthy” era after Theresa May the extremist.

A point to note is that some in the DVD may not hold the same views, having being exposed to the PREVENT policy.  Jahan Mahmood, for instance, who features in the DVD, has now become a noted critic of the policy and has frequently raised the issue of neocons in power, and their duplicitous policies, both foreign and domestic in public interviews.

(London, UK) A source has leaked crucial elements of the PREVENT training module WRAP to CAGE and now for the first time, and in the interest of greater public debate and scrutiny, CAGE is publishing the material.

The DVD clips can be downloaded from these links (here, here, here, here, here, here and here.)

The training DVD makes several simplistic assumptions that are empirically untested, ineffective and raises more questions than it seeks to answer. This may increase the likelihood that ‘extremism’ will be over-reported contributing to growing islamophobia.

By Scapegoating Muslims, Cameron Fuels Radicalisation

DavidCameronCrosspost: Seumas Milne

The anti-Muslim drumbeat has become deafening across the western world. As images of atrocities by the jihadi terror group Isis multiply online, and a steady trickle of young Europeans and North Americans head to Syria and Iraq to join them, Muslim communities are under siege. Last week David Cameron accused British Muslims of “quietly condoning” the ideology that drives Isis sectarian brutality, normalising hatred of “British values”, and blaming the authorities for the “radicalisation” of those who go to fight for it.

It was too much for Sayeeda Warsi, the former Conservative party chair, who condemned the prime minister’s “misguided emphasis” on “Muslim community complicity”. He risked “further alienating” the large majority of Muslims fighting the influence of such groups, she warned. Even Charles Farr, the hawkish counter-terrorism mandarin at the Home Office, balked. Perhaps fewer than 100 Britons were currently fighting with Isis, he said, and “we risk labelling Muslim communities as somehow intrinsically extremist”.

Report by Spinwatch: Henry Jackson Society and British Neoconservatism

Spinwatch henryjacksonsociety report

The release of a report which points to democracy being undermined by a society linked to a shadowy network of hate-financing, anti-Muslim, pro-Zionists should have at least twiddled the whiskers of some of the media.  In fact, the symposium held at the University of Bath on Islamophobia should have made some headlines:  this was perhaps the first time an academic and intellectual response to the dominant narratives surrounding the Muslim minority were collated and deployed on a single platform.  The major media response? Nowt.

The Impact on the Muslim Minority – Are the Main Parties Really that Different?

Photo: AFP/GETTY

I have written some articles focussed on the Conservative party and what it would mean to have a Tory government for Muslims and the broader UK populace (see here and here, for instance). Indeed it would be a severe blow to whole country at every level.

In the Muslim context, the Conservative party’s counter-extremism measures are grossly invasive with a disproportionate focus on Muslims, tearing up of the Magna Carta and the rule of law in the process. David Cameron doesn’t seem too keen in courting the “Muslim vote” anyway. With campaign plan drafted by Lynton Crosby, which includes a failed attempt at pandering to the UKIP voters, I would not expect anything less. Perhaps what seals the strategy of the Tories toward Muslims (not that Muslims, I am sure, would give a curse), is how the “abrasive” Crosby reportedly referred to this minority while campaigning for Boris Johnson. He apparently used “f*****g Muslims” when he was arguing it would be pointless to hold a particular event to win support in an area dominated by ethnic minority voters. Quite.

In a recent interview with Muslim News, despite Cameron’s claims that Muslims should not be viewed through the prism of security, quite evidently, over the last year, this is precisely what has happened. He defended PREVENT, defended the war-like incursion into Birmingham schools, brushed aside the demonisation of Muslims during the Trojan Hoax, cited Peter Clarke’s report and ignored the Education Select Committee’s findings that there was no “extremism” in Birmingham schools, pointed to Sajid Javid being a “Muslim” in cabinet as progress, despite the fact that Javid himself has said he is not a Muslim, and presented a sweety for the Muslims in the guise of recorded Islamophobic crimes, all the while doing everything politically over the past years to exasperate them.

Andrew Gilligan’s False Propaganda Against Muslim Head Teacher and Small Heath School Exposed

GilliganSmallHeathSchool

One of the incidental effects of the conclusions drawn by the Education Select Committee inquiry into the Trojan Hoax allegations, is the further exposure of establishment propagandist, Andrew Gilligan’s deceit and anti-Muslim bigotry. His last piece attacking a Muslim head teacher at Small Heath School, in Birmingham, on the most spurious of grounds continued the now officially disproven “takeover” theme. His one-sided diatribe was comprehensively exposed on this blog.

The blog was written prior to the publication of the Ofsted report. However, the report for the school has now been revealed, and so has the extent of Gilligan’s proliferation of lies and spin designed to discredit the Muslim head teacher at Small Heath School. It is time revisit his anti-Muslim propaganda.

Gilligan wrote that the school was to be placed into special measures “as fears grow of a resurgence of the ‘Trojan Horse’ plot”.  As already mentioned, the Select Committee found no evidence of a plot; the sentence amounts to nothing more than fear-mongering.

Andrew Gilligan and his Discriminatory Propaganda Piece on Anti-Semitism – A Follow Up

The reports of late around the increases in anti-Semitic reporting have primarily centred on Palestine, with Andrew Gilligan for instance, attempting to forge a link between the rise in attacks and Muslims Islam.

This came to a more emphatic, anti-Muslim assertion made by a Jew amongst the audience on BBC’s Question Time (05/02/2015), who stated that (at 57 minutes),

“There is a strong correlation between the rise of Muslims in Britain, and the rise of anti-Semitism… we don’t how many come from Muslims and how many don’t, but I suspect, there is a very strong relationship.”

The assertion was calmly made as though it was a statement of fact, yet it was admitted that the actual figures were not known. An unsubstantiated attack on the Muslim minority, no less.

In my piece on Gilligan, I highlighted how Gilligan focussed entirely on Muslims and Muslim behaviour. He also dragged in Muslim organisations and individuals in what was a Salafi-bashing piece, a nod to RICU directives, presumably. After reading Gilligan’s propaganda material, it would be understandable why the gentlemen in the audience relayed his anti-Muslim thoughts in the manner he did.

Zionist describes Muslims as Nazis at Far-Right Pegida Rally in Frankfurt

Crosspost: Rania Khalek

Addressing a recent rally in Frankfurt, a self-identified Israeli man equated Muslims with Nazis, murderers and rapists, and implored the crowd to “never feel ashamed” of Germany’s past.

The rally was called by Pegida, or Patriotic Europeans Against the Islamization of the West, a far-right organization founded last October in Dresden. Its demonstrations initially attracted hundreds of people protesting what they believe is Islam’s takeover of Germany. More recently, the number of people to attend has been in the thousands.

An assortment of rightwing groups, including neo-Nazis, have been taking part. Following the attacks on the paper Charlie Hebdo and a Jewish supermarket in Paris last month, a 12 January rally drew more than 25,000 people.

A video, which was posted to YouTube by Journal Frankfurt last week, shows a man, wrapped in a German flag, describing himself as an Israeli with German heritage during a Pegida rally.
